Halloween is almost here, but no matter where you live on Long Island there’s still plenty of family fun to be had. Grab your favorite person and a sweater and get out to enjoy fall!

HICKS NURSERY FALL FESTIVAL
Visit the famed Long Island nursery, where patrons can visit “Otto the Ghost”, enjoy hayrides and pet farm animals. There will be pumpkins, fresh-picked apples, fudge, apple cider, candy apples, and other tasty treats.

THE FALL FARM FESTIVAL 2018
Huntington’s longest Fall festival is back for its latest go-around, packed with activities, from the expected (pumpkin-picking, a magic show) to the out-of-left-field (Tricks for Treats Exotic Bird Show). A variety of fall foods will also be available, from roasted corn to fresh baked pies.

FINK’S COUNTRY FARM FALL FESTIVAL

Put on your Halloween costume and head to the Madison Theatre at Molloy College for a spooky good time. Admission includes a magic show, a haunted house, children’s games, live entertainment, face painting pumpkin picking and decorating, cupcake decorating, a duck pluck game, balloon creations, food trucks, entertainment, and a costume contest.

ISLIP COUNTRY FAIR AND FALL FESTIVAL
The Islip Chamber of Commerce’s second annual fall festival will be bursting with entertainment, line dancing, a pumpkin patch, kids’ costume parade, face painting, and food, art & craft vendors.

OKTOBERFEST! MUSIC FEST
Sit back and enjoy live Bluegrass music in a farm setting. Proust! The family attractions include hay rides, a pedal kart track, maze, lovely lavender labyrinth, and farm animals. Fresh food such as roasted sweet corn and squash, fresh-squeezed lemonade and hot dogs will be available for purchase.

GREAT JACK- ‘O-LANTERN SAIL
At this family event at Belmont Lake State Park, the first 50 carved pumpkins brought by attendees are placed on flotation devices and lit with candles and then sailed by kayaks around Belmont Lake at the end of the evening. Throughout the day there will be entertainment for all ages including- balloon twisting, pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating, children’s crafts and bouncy houses.

FREEDOMFEST, TASTE OF LONG ISLAND FESTIVAL AND STREET FAIR
FreedomFest is a showcase of the diverse range of food and beverage options available in Suffolk County. The event is organized by the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce. After participating in the Suffolk Marathon, visitors and runners can wind down with a celebration and some of the best craft food and drink Long Island has to offer.

The Halloween Boat Burning has been a tradition at Long Island Maritime Museum for nearly three decades, and it continues this October with an event to remember.
