Allied Foundation Team Delivered Toys to Patchogue Community Housing Innovations 1877

This holiday season the Allied Foundation and the team at DB Schenker Insurance & Trade Advisory Services and Transportation Logistics combined forces to orchestrate a toy drive resulting in dozens of toys being delivered to Patchogue-based Community Housing Innovations, Inc.

 The Allied Foundation is a not-for-profit founded by the Allied Physicians Group, an organization comprised of pediatricians based in the New York Metropolitan area and committed to providing the personal service associated with doctors maintaining an independent practice while enjoying the benefits belonging to an organization led by physicians.

 In addition to the toy drive, this holiday season DB Schenker corralled more than 200 books to benefit the Freeport-based Book Fairies, a not-for-profit organization that collects reading materials for people in need throughout metropolitan New York in order to foster literacy and academic success and nurture a love of reading across age groups.

 The Allied Foundation also conducts “diaper drives” throughout the year and distribute more than 40,000 per year throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties via 25 partner agencies to benefit families struggling with diaper need across Long Island.

 Established in 1991, Community Housing Innovations, Inc. provides families and individuals with emergency, transitional and permanent housing as well as supportive services, homeownership counseling, education and grant assistance, and foreclosure prevention counseling. Highlights From 2018 Patchogue Boat Parade 2048

Crowds lined up along the Patchogue River to watch the 25th Annual Holiday Boat Parade.   Themed “A Cartoon Christmas”, this year’s event had 22 boats participating from all over the island.  Congratulations go out to all of this year’s participants. Here is the list of the official winners:

        Peoples Choice Award:  Boat #22 – Dead Reckoning, Captain Billy Kaiser
        Best Sound /Music:   Boat #19 – Trophey, Captain Chad Widman

9/11 Memorial

Listed below are ceremonies being held in our area on Tuesday, September 11, 2018  in memory of Patriots Day, 9/11.

Bellport
The Bellport Fire Department will be holding a service at 7 p.m. by the 9/11 Memorial located at the Bellport Marina / Dock.

Brookhaven Hamlet
The Brookhaven Fire Department will be holding a ceremony at 7 p.m. at the Brookhaven Firehouse, 2486 Montauk Hwy, Brookhaven.  .

East Patchogue
The Hagerman Fire Department will host a service, 7pm, by the 9/11 Memorial located at the Hagerman Fire Department, 510 Oakdale Ave, East Patchogue,

Patchogue Village
The Village will be hosting their 1st Annual 9/11 Memorial Service, 11 am, at the new 9/11 Memorial Park, located at Cedar Ave and Maiden Lane, overlooking the Great South Bay.

Patchogue Fire Department will also be hosting a  9/11 service at 6:30 pm, outside the firehouse, located at 15 Jennings Avenue, Patchogue.
